Dr John’s Fight Against Atrocities on Doctors
Dr John Ebnezar became the first Padma Awardee doctor to take up the issue of the rising atrocities on doctors to the highest level. He petitioned both the President of India and the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. He sought to meet both to present his petition directly to them urging them to look into the safety and security of the doctors. His effort was widely appreciated by all the doctors cutting across specialties and his appeal went viral. He earned lots of good will from his professional colleagues for his selfless effort to reach out to the doctors in distress.

He was given an appointment at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan on March 28th 2017.
He visited the office of the President and submitted the petition personally. He was assured by the Secretary to the President that they have taken note of this matter and something will be done to safeguard the interests of the doctors.

His effort went Viral and doctors of various groups and specialties lauded the efforts of Dr John Ebnezar for taking the matter at the highest level which no other doctor or organisation did.
The response from the President was very positive. Recently in a public function at Kolkatta President of India appealed to the public to refrain from attaching the doctors and the hospital staff and urged them to show constraints and allow the doctors work peacefully.
Dr John Ebnezar has taken his fight against atrocities on doctors across India. He also petitioned the Prime Minister of India, Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modiji and requested to enact a new law.
Dr John Ebnezar also petitioned Dr Shalini Rajneesh,Principal Secretary,Department of Health, Government of Karnataka and she responded positively and got the Chief Minister of Karnataka to issue a statement on behalf of the doctors to the public.
